Sheri’s 60th Birthday Bash!

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing Sheri’s birthday party.  It was not simply just a party, but a celebration of Life.

While Sheri is a breast cancer survivor she does not let simply the overcoming of a disease define her.  Sheri is a beautiful array of family, charity, energy and relationships.  Just a few short hours with this family and I was blown away by their generosity and vibrancy.

This party was not simply to celebrate Sheri but instead all life.  As a board member of  NorthStar Reach her kids and husband took the time to incorporate fundraising into the event to commemorate Sheri.  Guests and Family members were able to raise an incredible amount of money to help begin construction of this camp that specializes in a summer camp experience for kids with serious illnesses.

Bar none, this party had every detail covered.  It was hosted on the beautiful Portage Lake by some wonderful friends, there were balloon animals and hats; caricatures, carnival-like entertainment, DJ music courtesy of Sheri’s son, an immense spread of delicious food and even an ice cream cart!

The love for Sheri was ever-present in the toasts, the dancing and through out every detail the celebration.  A personal favorite was when her granddaughters sang a song for her that they had written!

With well over 150 guests attending, everyone was family and by the time I left I felt as though I was included.

Team in Training Benefit

If there is one thing I hope my clients take away from their sessions without me having to say is that I shoot with passion.  I strive to live with passion, love with passion and run my business with passion.

That being said I am excited to announce a shoot that combines three things I am over the moon passionate about: running, photography and charity.

August 11 I will be doing mini sessions to support Team in Training.

For $125 you will get a thirty minute session and 10 images with printing rights.  50% of each session fee will be donated to a Team in Training team that is headed by one of my former Saline CC runners preparing to race the 2013 Detroit Marathon!

Not only are running and charity important to me but my grandma Elizabeth passed away due to leukemia so the opportunity to raise money to help eliminate blood cancers through research was simply irresistible.

My personal goal is to have 14 sessions so that I can donate more than $1000 to blood cancer research.  Help me reach that goal and sign up for a session today!

Carrie and Alex 6.1.13

Carrie and Alex had an absolutely gorgeous day! After about a week straight of intense heat and a forecast calling for storms all day we managed to eek out an amazing outdoor ceremony and some fantastic portraits all before an ominous looking storm system made it’s way toward us!  This couple had a fantastic family, venue and their bridal party was top notch! They were willing to try any pose I suggested as well as had many creative ideas themselves!! Their party was the hit of the century with the amazing DJ services by Memory Maker!   So much fun!  Thanks for including me in your amazing day!
